The Republic of Perú
The diplomatic relation between the Republic of Indonesia and the Republic of Perú was established on 12 August 1975. At first, the Indonesian mission to Perú was accredited by the Indonesian embassy in Brazil. Considering the ineffectiveness and the need to strengthen the cooperation with Perú, the Indonesian government opened the Indonesian embassy in Lima on 20 February 2002. On the other hand, the Peruvian government opened its embassy in Jakarta on 1 November 1992.
Both countries have maintained a fruitful cooperation in a number of international forum, for example in the Group-77, the G-15 and APEC. The continuous and regular contacts between officials of the two countries also have also created a solid foundation for the bilateral relation.
